Some people may think that animals do not demand respect, but there are many cases that show that this is not true. In Shimla, the Himachal Pradesh capital city, which is in India, a young man learned this lesson the hard way.
There are lots of wild monkeys in this area, and this man was passing by one. For whatever reason, he decided to give this monkey his middle finger. However, the monkey did not take too kindly to that. Before he was even able to put his hand back down, the monkey leapt at him and knocked him to the ground.
Whether or not the man deserves to have this happen is up for debate, but one thing is for sure. The monkey definitely did not like what the man did. Whether he actually knew that it was an obscene gesture or could somehow just sense the disrespect coming from the young man, he would not tolerate it. Maybe this monkey would behave the exact same way with anyone who was showing blatant rudeness the way the young man was that day. He definitely got a taste of his own medicine, and it was done in front of multiple people as well.
It is actually humorous in many ways to watch an individual get his or her just desserts for unsolicited rudeness. Perhaps this monkey has taught the bruised young man a lesson, and he will think twice before he ever treat anyone like that again, human or simian.
