Like it or not, Trump is now the Republican Nominee and racing toward the coveted seat at the White House. While Trump has slung mud at all of his opponents until he was the only one left, it appears that some of his dirt may bury him. Some say there are reasons enough in his past to keep him from holding the highest office in this land. It was John Oliver who went on HBO’s Last Week Tonight show and broke down the scandal involving Trump University.
Everyone knows that Trump has made and is worth a lot of money. In an effort to teach the world how to be like the Donald, he opened his own university. People would pay thousands of dollars to learn how to be successful in the business world. What happened is that people invested their money and had nothing to show for it. Trump University was never a university at all. He advertised that he had “handpicked the instructors.” However, when it came to the depositions in lawsuits surrounding this scheme, he said he had no knowledge of the faculty members.
When the faculty members were questioned, officials found that not only did they have no real estate experience, but they also had no business savvy to offer their students. One staff member worked at Lowe’s and the other at Buffalo Wild Wings. One staff member testified that the whole thing was a joke and money making scheme. Oliver went on public record to say that he thinks this is grounds that should keep Trump from the White House. Does America agree that Trump has a shady enough past to keep him from this position? According to the polls, it does not matter what this man does or says, people still keep supporting him.
Oliver said that this one instance just goes to show how much of a liar and thief that Trump has always been. He fears if we put a man like this into the White House, not only will the rest of the world see us as inferior and stupid, but that it will be massive confusion. Trump could be making deals with the devil in order to make things look good at the homeland. He has already proven he does not have the proper etiquette as a speaker. He is like a five-year-old that throws tantrums and says whatever is on his mind. Is that really the kind of person that should be responsible for an entire nation?
Oliver wanted to educate the people and let them know about this university scheme. He stole from thousands of Americans and did not think twice about it. His personal gain has always been by stepping on others. Oliver wants the world to know that Trump only cares about himself and his family. He has manipulated Americans into voting for him by saying just what they want to hear. This is similar to the tactics used in Trump University. He had just the right words to allure people into his money making trap.
While people swarm to his rallies and parade around him for his wise words about “Making America Great Again,” they have no clue the man and what he is really capable of. Oliver wants people to know who they are voting for. He encourages people to do some research before heading to the polls this year. It is a difficult race where both presumed parties will have sorted pasts and plenty of dirt to sling back and forth. It is going to be a long five months until November.
