“Luck of the Draw” is a game show in Turkey. On this show, the contestants compete to find their true love. Sefer Calinak, a 62 year old single man recently appeared on the show in hopes of finding a true love at last. Because Calinak believes that relationships should be built on honesty and trust, he casually admitted that he murdered two of his former lovers.
Calinak describes himself as “an honest man looking for a new wife.” That is why he admitted to killing his past lovers and spending time in prison for the crimes. According to Calinak, his first wife became irritating and he killed her when he became jealous. He goes on to claim that his second lover tried to murder him when she did not want to leave her husband. Then, he states, “She got in the way when I swung the ax.”
After being escorted off the show, Calinak was interviewed by the Turkish newspaper Haberturk. He claims that he has spent 14 years behind bars because of the murders and that the time has changed him.
He also adds, “The woman who will marry me should not be afraid that I will kill her.”
