It is easy to fall in love with a four-legged friend. Many people have visited animal shelters and felt compelled to adopt an animal because they fell in love, but sometimes animals catch you off guard. One man got a surprise when he opened a bag of mulch, he could not believe what he saw.
At first, he thought it was a mouse or rat. However, when he looked a little bit closer, he saw that it was in fact a squirrel. The man deduced that the squirrel was a baby that had got separated from its mother. He knew that he would have to work around the clock in order to keep the squirrel alive, it would be hard work but he fed the squirrel every day and cared for it like his own pet.
The man refused to give up on his new best friend, though his friends told him that he was wasting his time because the squirrel would never make it. However, the squirrel eventually regained its strength. The squirrel had its eyes closed before, but it eventually opened them.
The man named the squirrel Zip, because he is always zipping around. Zip has made such a miraculous recovery that many people would not believe he was in bad shape before.
