Student President Chastised For Skirt length. See The Scathing Letter She Writes To Her School…

Carey Burgess is a model student. She’s the student body president and very interested in national politics, she has even been to an appearance by Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina. Last week, however, Carey was publicly humiliated by a teacher for wearing something that the educator clearly thought was “risqué“.

Carey was told, in front of an audience of her peers, that her skirt was too short. Or, as Carey put it, “I am a whore.” In a scathing open letter on her personal Facebook page, Carey called the teacher out for her handling of the situation.

“Thank you, Mrs. Woods. Thank you for teaching me that looking good for school is NOT appropriate. Thank you for letting me know that while I may think that I am dressing up for my Teacher Cadet lesson, I am in fact dressing to go to a night club or the whore house.”

Carey’s main criticism wasn’t just that she was blatantly called out for her skirt length, but rather the fact that it occurred publicly, which was embarrassing for her. In her letter, she suggested it might have been more effective for the teacher to speak to her privately about the issue. Since her teacher called her out publicly, she did the same to the teacher, via the internet. Like any effective politician, Carey cited her heretofore unblemished record of service: “Student Body President, junior marshal, and a recipient of the Palmetto Fellows” award.

Here’s the picture of her outfit, which by my account looks pretty conservative. Carey ended her open letter with a call to action, saying:

“Maybe instead of worrying about my skirt, Beaufort High should take notice of its incompetent employees, and sexist leaders.”

Maybe she overreacted, or maybe she hit the nail on the head. That is for you to decide – let us know what you think! Personally, I think I’m on her side.
