When you see an abused animal, you probably have an immediate response of wanting to help. Looking into the eyes of a dog, you can often see the pain that the animal has been through. They can’t hide the hurt and the sadness. When a dog is neglected, it can lead to numerous health conditions. They could become too skinny, and they might not want to socialize with other people or animals.
Overfeeding a dog is also a form of abuse and neglect. Dogs eat what they are given, and they don’t realize when they have eaten too much. Many of the people fed a dog leftovers and other treats, which led to him being overweight. Fortunately, someone rescued the dog and put him on a diet.
A police officer found the dog on the side of the road while patrolling. The dog was eating scraps and didn’t want to look at the officer. They also helped him with exercise. Since the dog was rescued, he has lost 30 pounds.
He looks healthy and can run with other animals and his owner. His skin has improved, and he is now willing to let people touch him where he only wanted to eat before.
