She Asked Her Third Grade Class What They Wished SHE Knew. Their Answers Are Heartbreaking

Teachers are a group who often show that they care for their students in precious ways. One teacher asked her students a question, and the answers they gave broke her heart.

Most adults don’t think about the struggles that children go through. They sometimes think that children have it easy as they don’t have to worry about bills or the other responsibilities of being an adult. There are things that children do that adults sometimes don’t have the time for, such as naps or playing outside.

There are things that have changed in the world, and children are now facing times when they do worry. This teacher asked her third graders what they wished she knew. She asked them to write their answers on an index card. She is a new teacher in the school and simply wanted to know how to best help the children she taught.

They didn’t have to include their name on the card, but most of them voluntarily told her who left the response. Some of the answers included not having pencils at home to do homework, not having a friend to play with and not having a mother at home a lot to sign homework. The children were honest, and they now know they have a friend in their teacher who they can trust.
