Rosie O’Donnell Offers SNL to Play Steve Bannon

To say that there is animosity between Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump may be an understatement. Perhaps that’s part of the reason why, when it was suggested online that she play President Trump’s top advisor (Steve Bannon) on SNL, she jumped at the opportunity.
After all, this is a president that, while not sensitive to the plight of others, sure is sensitive to their portrayals and opinions of him. Most notably, he has lost his mind over Alec Baldwin’s impressions of him on SNL.

Apparently, it’s his running theme among his picks, as even his Press Secretary (Sean Spicer) said that the skits were “mean”. This came after Melissa McCarthy did a wonderfully funny portrayal of him.

In both an attempt to bring a little laughter into these dark times as well as push Trump over the edge, Rosie O’Donnell wants to play one of his closest staff members – Bannon.

This would be double effective, not only because he hates her with a passion, but also because he was apparently quite upset with a woman playing Spicer.

Sources close to #NotMyPresident Trump was quoted as saying, “More than being lampooned as a press secretary who makes up facts, it was Spicer’s portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president’s eyes.” The source went on to say, “[It was] not considered helpful for Spicer’s longevity in the grueling, high-profile job in which he has struggled to strike the right balance between representing an administration that considers the media the ‘opposition party,’ and developing a functional relationship with the press.”

Not only would playing Bannon bring O’Donnell joy, it might also bring her a little well-deserved closure. In 2016, she told People that Trump bullied her worse, even more than what she had faced in high school. She had said, “It was national, and it was sanctioned societally. Whether I deserved it is up to your own interpretation,”.

There is also a call for her to play Trump for a night to really get his goat. It’s such a popular idea that there is an entire site up and running where people can pledge donations to charities of her choice if she accepts the role (if it’s offered).

We are certainly looking forward to watching Trump and his buddies blow up on Twitter if Miss O’Donnell is able to land a role!
