Reddit user jorvis52 has encountered a strange situation. After the birth of her daughter, the family pet began having a canine identity crisis. As time went on, it became increasingly obvious that the dog believed itself to be the parent of her child. Jorvis52 wrote on Reddit: “I’m starting to think that my dog thinks that my baby is actually her baby.”
Looking at photos of the dog curling protectively around the baby, other Reddit users couldn’t help but agree.
Apparently, the dog never leaves the baby’s side, giving the baby’s real mother a serious cuteness attack. Mom took a variety of photos of the dog, which appears to be a golden retriever, cuddling up to the baby. She wrote: “She is so cuddly with her its [sic] too cute not to document.”
This dog may be having an identity crisis, but it’s easy to see why Mom doesn’t want it to end. If things keep going like this, this little baby is going to grow up with a sweet, cuddly best friend who will always have her back. It doesn’t look like much is going to get by this dog, which – although possibly confused about self-image – is clearly devoted to this little girl.
