A fan who attended a recent American football game in Detroit got to see more than just the game. A man, he is going by the name of Lye, was seated behind a couple during the game and noticed the pregnant female sending multiple text messages on her phone.
He described the messages as being romantic in nature. According to Lye she was sending someone named Jason things such as “I wish I was with you all day” and “I will see you as soon as I am done with him.” The woman’s boyfriend, who was seated right next to her, appeared to have no idea what was going on. The woman attempted to keep the phone shielded from her date and would turn it off whenever he tried to initiate conversation.
Lye contends that he felt sympathy for the man and thought he should let him know about his girlfriend’s cheating. At the conclusion of the match he slipped the man a note directing him to check his girlfriend’s phone for the inappropriate texts. The story and the images have gone viral and sparked a debate on the appropriateness of Lye’s actions.
There are those that found Lye’s action inappropriate since he did not know what the situation really was, and feel he should stay out of someone else’s relationship. Many commenters worried about the possibility of the woman being subjected to abuse from her boyfriend after he reads the text messages. Even though he has received some backlash over his actions, Lye claims he does not regret what he did and would do it again.
