A photo posted to Reddit drew thousands of comments and prompted LiftBump to run a story of its own. The photo shows an elderly man sitting alone in an In-N-Out booth. But it is what’s on the table that motivated so many to comment. On the table is a photograph that appears to show the man with his presumably deceased wife.
The photograph instilled many strong emotions in the Reddit thread. Some Redditors wrote that they were moved to tears by the photo. Another, who goes by SKS81 on the site, told a story about how his or her father has coped with losing his wife by hanging pictures of her all over the house, one of which he kisses each time he walks by it and says, “I love you honey, I hope you know that.”
Many viewers, it seemed, were struck by the photograph on Reddit because it led them to consider how much time they have left with their own loved ones. A Redditor going by the name of Restelly-Quist wrote, “I was gonna reply to your comment earlier but instead I got up to spend the last 5 minutes with my husband…”
It seems the photo instilled in people the importance of spending time with loved ones. The photo also showed that you can spend time with memories of them even after they’re gone.
