Donald Trump recently shocked the nation with lewd sexually-charged language caught on hidden camera. His wife, Melania Trump, waited over a week before coming to his defense in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper. She diminished Trump’s culpability by claiming his derogatory statements were “boy talk.” She slandered Billy Bush by insisting that he had “egged him on” to say those perverse statements about women.
It is unprecedented in United States presidential politics that a candidate would describe a segment of the population the way Donald Trump did. His constant rude rhetoric about other segments, including, Muslims, military family members, LGBT and African Americans have been amplified in the scandal’s wake. Most politicians steer clear of ostracizing potential voters but Trump has been working hard to alienate as many as possible since the start of his campaign.

Trump’s rival, Hillary Clinton, has questioned his ability to lead the nation in a crisis. These concerns have been further solidified through Melania’s claim about Trump being able to be easily manipulated. George Takei offered a frightening vision on Twitter. He speculated that Putin might be able to harm America terribly by influencing Trump if he were elected.
Melania raised additional alarm by comparing Trump to their 10-year-old son. The President of the United States is supposed to be the standard by which all others are judged. Exuding the same lack of maturity as a child certainly does not show that one has the temperament to hold office.
