It was an ordinary workday for Khalil Calixte, an employee for Uber a company that provides rides for people using their mobile app. Calixte was running his next job, picking up three girls going to a Taylor Swift concert. Calixte picked up Maggie Fair, Jamie Tanzer and Jenna McNicholas in New York City at Grand Central Terminal. The three friends had an extra ticket for the concert.
It was for a friend who canceled at the last minute and they still hadn’t decided what to do with it. The surprising answer came to them during the ride to the concert. While they listened to Taylor Swift’s songs in the car, Calixte sang along to every song. The girls immediately decided to invite Calixte to join them at the concert. Calixte, who had never attended a concert, thought the girls were joking. But the three friends weren’t joking so Calixte accepted their invitation. The four new friends had a wonderful time.
“We had a great time, I felt like I knew them for a long time and we created a bond, and it was really fun.” Calixte said.
Calixte wasn’t the only one who felt that way.
“It was like we were already friends. We danced and sang the whole night, it was so much fun,” Fair said.
To top off this memorable day for Calixte, the VIP concert tickets included complimentary parking.
