Alan Jackson is a talented performer and songwriter, but his personal life stands out from the turbulence that is often associated with the American music industry. Though suspected by many, his devotion to his family was revealed in a posting by one of his children. In that writing, 23-year-old Ali Jackson described him as “every daughter’s dream father” who also taught her how to make it on her own.
Ali wrote that while the world recognizes her father for his musical talents, she sees him as her “best” friend. She credited her father with learning how to treat others and personally thanked him for raising a family in an environment filled with “Jesus and music.”
Jackson has previously acquired the reputation for being a devoted family man, one who returns to his wife Denise and their three daughters after every performance. The 58-year-old country performer has been married for 37 years to what was his high school sweetheart. Ali is his “middle” child, born between 36-year-old Mattie and 19-year-old Dani.
Jackson was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year. His numerous awards include 16 from the Country Music Association, 17 from the Academy of Country Music and two Grammy honors. Known to combine honky tonk style with mainstream country music, Jackson has sold more than 80 million records, with 35 of his 66 titles having reached the number one spot in Billboard magazine’s rankings.
